The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Executive Director to champion the existing and emerging business needs of our members. We invite self-motivated individuals focused on serving our membership and building strategic partnerships within the community to apply for this exciting and fast-paced position.
Reporting to the Elkford Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the role of the Executive Director is to work with the Board of Directors, the membership and community stakeholders in supporting our mission, vision and core values.
As the first point of contact for businesses and visitors of the Chamber, the position requires a highly motivated and energetic person who can set priorities and demonstrate a professional and respectful attitude. Planning and executing programs, events and information to our membership and the community is the backbone of the position along with administrative tasks. This is a work from home position, aside from meetings and events, the hours set are flexible.
Key duties include: Manage daily operations of the organization including implementation and administration of the policies and programs established by the Board of Directors; serve as the Chamber’s membership and promotions administrator; work with committees to plan and execute events and activities and attend appropriate chamber events and complete other duties as assigned. This position does require some additional evening and weekend attendance at events or committee meetings set by the Executive Director.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Answer and field incoming phone calls and manage incoming/outgoing mail and all electronic communications. Control office supplies and inventory.
· Ensure that all proper chamber documentation is current: policies, insurance, provincial registration, etc.
· Maintain and update the chamber’s website and social media channels.
· Initiate membership retention calls and collect past due membership fees monthly; assess member needs. Prepare and distribute membership renewal invoices and past due letters monthly.
· Through networking, assist existing businesses with growth opportunities, education, mentoring, plan, promote, market, and implement events.
· Attend monthly chamber board meetings and set agenda.
· Oversee and manage the fiscal resources of the organization, manage accounts receivable and payable, including monthly payroll, assist Treasurer in providing monthly Financial Reports to the Board of Directors. File reports and pay all payroll liabilities for employees on a monthly and yearly basis as required by the Canadian Revenue Agency.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience and Education
Job Types: Hourly Part-time (20 hours per week)
Salary: $2000/monthly

Qualifications: Experience and Education
- At least 2 years secretarial/clerical experience in a professional office environment
- Experience with all aspects of customer service, event planning experience an asset. Experience working in a member-based organizations an asset
- Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook.
- Local knowledge and familiarity with local businesses/clubs and organizations an asset.
