The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is an organization that supports and builds communication with businesses, community and government. Our organization is seeded with the idea of establishing a platform for youth to “action their potential” to become ‘global citizens’. The Youth Chamber Program is about building an entrepreneurial mind set at an early age, supporting youth in starting and building their own business, or working for a local business in the community. Through the YCP, youth in Grade 12 will be supported by the Elkford Chamber of Commerce through making business connections in the community, learn what tools they need to start up their own business, how to work for a company and be included in the Elkford Chamber of Commerce membership at no cost to them.
We are reaching out to businesses in Elkford and area to seek support in the Youth Chamber Program. The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is working in collaboration with Elkford Secondary School, and has incorporated programs currently running through the high school with the Youth Chamber Program. These programs were developed to enhance the experience and development for youth wanting to be an entrepreneur or gain employment for future development as they enter adulthood.
