The Elkford Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant organization dedicated to fostering economic growth and community development in Elkford. As part of our expansion, we are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission.

 

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Elkford Chamber of Commerce. This part-time position, initially 20 hours per week, will encompass a variety of administrative responsibilities, including managing general office tasks, operating a point-of-sale (POS) system, and assisting in the management of our new coworking space.

 

Key Responsibilities:

General Administrative Support:

  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, providing timely and professional responses.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, and appointments, and maintaining calendars.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems, both physical and digital.

Point-of-Sale (POS) System Management:

  • Operate and manage the POS system for the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining records of sales.
  • Assist customers with purchases and inquiries, ensuring a positive experience.

Coworking Space Support:

  • Welcome and assist individuals using the coworking space.
  • Ensure the coworking area is well-maintained and organized.
  • Support with coordinating bookings and managing reservations for the coworking space.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with team members to support various Chamber initiatives and events.
  • Communicate effectively with members, visitors, and stakeholders in-person, via phone, and through email correspondence.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including Google Suite
  • Confidence with the use of technology
  • Familiarity with operating a point-of-sale (POS) system is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Friendly demeanor and customer service orientation.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in Office Administration or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
